Histopathology Technician
Course Outline:
This course is to learn exclusively histopathology department workflow-related techniques. This includes sample for acceptance criteria for required testing and the ability to process the sample in a manner defined for the area of specialized testing, to operate the equipment involved in various activities of the department, and gives detailed knowledge of QC analysis, acceptance of QC and handling of outliers and enhance the knowledge of accreditation requirements and quality management system and effective handling and disposal of samples after their defined retention period and also provide knowledge of inventory management.
Course outcome:
This course will prepare students to understand and operate precision equipment and work with a variety of dyes and chemicals to make tissue abnormalities visible with a microscope and how to use those slides for research or to make a diagnosis.
Eligibility: Undergraduate or Postgraduate in Medicine, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology & Biochemistry.
Seats: 60 students/course. Selection of participants on a first come first serve basis through Merit, Screening test & Interview.
